Books in a HurryThe whole idea in an hour

The author

Max Brocklesby

Founder, builder, and compulsive reader based in London. Books in a Hurry is his answer to a problem he kept running into: wanting to understand things properly, without the time the usual format demands.

Max runs several businesses and builds a steady stream of independent web tools and sites. He reads across a wide range, keeps a ranked reading list, and has spent enough time around big non-fiction to notice how much of it goes unfinished, including on his own shelf.

The idea for the series came from that gap. He is convinced that the appetite for knowledge has not shrunk, only the patience for the packaging it usually comes in. The invention of the endless feed rewired attention faster than publishing adjusted. He thinks short, complete, well-written books are one sensible response, so he started writing them.

He writes every book in the series himself, to a fixed standard: plain English, honest about the sources, and sized to an hour. Stoicism in a Hurry is the first, written as a format test for everything that follows.
